In Interviewform erzählen sie von ihren persönlichen Erfahrungen, ihren beruflichen Werdegängen und den Herausforderungen, denen sie als Frauen in der japanischen Gesellschaft begegnen.
Die porträtierten Frauen kommen unter anderem aus Politik, Umweltschutz, Frauenrechten, Bildung, Wissenschaft, Sport sowie Kunst und Kultur. Viele von ihnen verbinden ihre berufliche Karriere mit Ehe und Familie.
Zu den vorgestellten Persönlichkeiten gehören beispielsweise die Bergsteigerin Junko Tabei, die Juraprofessorin Kuniko Inoguchi, die Frauenrechtlerin Mariko Mitsui und die Pianistin Hiroko Nakamura.
