Tsubaki Japanese Bookstore is an online shop specialized in Japanese books in Japanese, English, and German. We have more than 30,000 used, new, and rare books in stock, including Japanese philosophy, history, zen, Japanese gardening, origami, adult and children's literature, Asian literature, art, photography, design books, cookbooks, lifestyle titles, craft titles, and more.

In December 2021 in Berlin, Yamashina Japanese Bookstore – an authentic bookstore for Japanese culture – closed its doors for good after four decades. We took over the books from the historical Japanese bookstore Yamashina to begin a new chapter.

We believe that bookstores should function as cultural centres for the promotion of lifestyle, education, and the arts and not only selling products on the internet. Therefore, we are delighted to give our customers a chance to collect Japanese books at affordable prices.
