Es kam zu einer gewaltigen Schlacht zwischen einer Gruppe Ninja und einer Armee von Samurai.
Voller Humor und Spannung erweckt Ryō Wada historische Persönlichkeiten zum Leben und lässt uns an ihren politischen Intrigen und actiongeladenen Kämpfen teilhaben. Dabei verwebt er gekonnt geschichtliche Fakten mit fesselnder Fiktion, weshalb der Roman in Japan als Meisterwerk der historischen Unterhaltungsliteratur gefeiert wird. Die Verfilmung von 2017, bei der eine Reihe bekannter japanischer Schauspielerinnen und Schauspieler mitwirkte, war ein großer Erfolg.
