1Q84 is a major novel by Haruki Murakami.
Its title echoes George Orwell’s 1984, hinting at a subtly altered version of reality.

Set in Tokyo in 1984, the story follows Aomame, who begins to notice that the world around her is not quite the same as before after a seemingly simple decision.
At the same time, Tengo, an aspiring writer, becomes involved in rewriting a mysterious manuscript that blurs the line between fiction and reality.

As both become aware of a quiet but undeniable shift in the world, their separate paths gradually draw closer. Under a sky with two moons, their stories unfold in a reality that feels both familiar and strangely displaced.
